Senior Special Assistant for Public Affairs

Ajuri Ngelale is a Nigerian journalist and the current Senior Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Public Affairs.

Prior to his appointment, he worked at the African Independent Television (AIT) News. In 2017, he left AIT for Channels TV where he worked as a TV presenter, producer and senior news correspondent.

Ajuri Ngelale was born in the United State to a Nigerian father and a German mother. He originally hails from Rivers State.

While growing up, he was very close to his mother who thought him many things about life. According to him; his mother the meaning of service, why work matters, what it is to give your best when doing anything and many other life facts.

He spent most of his life in the United States. On completing his early primary and high school education, he gained admission to study Political Science at the University of Kansas in 2005. He graduated in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science degree, he also holds a Bachelor’s degree in History from the same university.

On return to Nigeria, Ajuri Ngelale started working at the African Independent Television (AIT) News. Between March 2013 to November 2016, he served as Lead Consultant, Public Affairs at the Federal Ministry of Power.

In 2017, he left AIT for Channels TV where he started working as a TV presenter, producer and senior news correspondent.

He is currently serving as the Senior Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Public Affairs.
